About us
Innovative solutions for the industry
Voltabox AG was founded in 2014 and has subsequently rapidly developed various industrial submarkets – from intralogistics and public transport to sophisticated mining applications. In 2017, the company became the first Pure Play in the field of electromobility to go public. The main owners of Voltabox AG are Triathlon Holding GmbH and EW Trade AG. The remaining shares are mainly in free float.
The company is based in Paderborn in eastern Westphalia and specializes in lithium-ion battery technology. The main focus is on supplying customers in the bus, construction and agricultural machinery sectors. Voltabox uses different cell chemistries (NMC, LTO and LFP) to develop and produce the battery systems. A unique selling point of the company is its high-voltage expertise – the voltage range of the battery systems that can currently be used extends from 12 volts to over 600 volts. Voltabox battery systems are certified and have undergone comprehensive approval tests.
With GreenCluster GmbH, Voltabox entered the market for solar energy and energy utilization concepts for residential and commercial properties in 2022. In the design, installation and trading of photovoltaic systems, Voltabox is benefiting directly from the current increasing trend towards conversion to renewable energies.
The CEO of the company is Patrick Zabel. Together with a team of technical and industry experts, Patrick Zabel defines the strategic direction of the company.
Voltabox is part of a network of cooperation partners. This enables access to existing development and production capacities worldwide. Partners include world market leaders in battery manufacturing.

Sustainable profitable market development
In its founding years, Voltabox was among the pioneers of industrial electric drive technology and electromobility solutions. After a recent turbulent past, Voltabox has fundamentally overhauled its own organization, streamlined its product and technology portfolio, and realigned itself in the market.

The focus is always on the profitable, sustainable development of the business. Voltabox focuses on industrial submarkets such as buses and construction and agricultural machinery. In addition, the company’s products address autonomous driving and also L7e vehicles, among other things.
In addition to the Industry & eMobility field of activity, Voltabox is seizing opportunities in the area of converting private and commercial properties to alternative energy solutions, in particular photovoltaic systems and battery storage, with its young GreenCluster business unit.
We see ourselves as a holistic partner for our customers. In industrial application areas, we contribute our added value based on the extensive industry experience of employees, particularly in terms of conceptual design and project management.
More than ever, Voltabox is incorporating insights gained from analyzing market trends in the battery industry and potential areas of application into the direction of its own business in order to secure sources of revenue.
Based on this, we use a network of cooperation partners that provides access to comprehensive resources in the areas of research & development and production capacities.

At Voltabox you will encounter a dynamic, agile and motivated team. The face to the outside world is Management Board member Patrick Zabel, who has been on the company’s Management Board since May 2020 and CEO of Voltabox AG since March 2022.

In accordance with legal requirements, Voltabox AG has a dual management system. This is characterized by a strict separation of personnel between the Executive Board as the management body and the Supervisory Board as the supervisory body.
The Supervisory Board appoints the members of the Board of Management and monitors and advises the Board of Management in its management of the business. The Supervisory Board is directly involved in decisions of fundamental importance to the Company.
The Supervisory Board of Voltabox AG carries out its activities in accordance with the law, the Articles of Association, its Rules of Procedure and in the spirit of responsible corporate governance.
